Review of St. Lukes Brooklands - Community Team
27th July 2021

All of the support, care and guidance has been exceptional and of immense value at a very difficult time; from first being introduced to our named specialist nurse, right through to the time when care was needed in the home. It has been a very personal, first class, high quality support experience, which has exceeded expectations. The person at the centre of the care is put first and always treated with the utmost respect and dignity in a personable and friendly manner. The wealth of shared experiences is clearly evident and we couldn't have had any better support and care. An incredible team - thank you all.

Suggested improvements
I cannot think of anything which could have been done better.

My mother had great treatment from St Lukes, and your 'Kathrine' was wonderful the only issue we had was not being able to give real pain relief in the form of an injection. Mum suffered terribly on her last day which will live with me forever. She did not desereve this and if I had been able I would have stopped the pain.

Suggested improvements
Allow injectable pain relief from a carer. We waited 1/2 day for am injection and that broke my mum. She was on her hands and illness in agency which was unbearable, for us and her.

Review of St Luke's Brooklands - EOL Urgent Care written by a family member

[22] such a variety of cares, all with slightly different views/opinions - some installed greater confidence than others. However, all were respectful, honest and lovely.

Suggested improvements
We have not had a follow-up/courtesy call from anyone at St. Luke's. This would have been a nice touch and a couple of my have independently noticed this. To go from twice a day and visits to zero in a time of grief feels odd somehow and even if it was to tie off loose ends and allow us to thank it person.

Lin, was very normal with me, which is what I like, to be treated as normal as can possibly be as I am palliative care. Very caring and empathetic.
